Cycling - Do you want to be a Sustrans Bike Hero?
Pupils at Montgomery Primary school have the chance to become Sustrans Heroes in preparation for the 2012 Games!
Sustrans Heroes is one of the outstanding projects granted the London 2012 Inspire mark, the badge of the London 2012 Inspire programme, which recognises exceptional and innovative projects inspired by the 2012 Games.
Sustrans Heroes will run in the lead-up to the big event and will give pupils an opportunity to see how the Olympic and Paralympic values relate to their daily life, whilst promoting the positive health, environmental and economical benefits of cycling.
How can Montgomery Primary children become a Sustrans Hero?
Each child who takes part will receive a booklet with 21 cycling-related tasks to complete. They can achieve Bronze, Silver or Gold depending on how many of the challenges they tick off. Some of these tasks will need to be completed out of school and all will need to be signed off by an adult. We will be organizing events at school for children to take part in.
To take part in Sustrans Heroes please see a school Bike It BUG or Ms Vickery for a booklet and information on meeting dates/times.
At the end of the summer term, the booklets will be returned to school and prizes will be organised by your local Bike It Officer.
