What an inspiration Frank Sutcliffe has been!
We looked at his photographs from Victorian times then dressed as characters in the role play area. We used these images to draw and paint using black and white tones. We are delighted with the results!

This week the children have been polishing their skills at modelling Plasticine into Aztec pots and gods. They have had exposure to the 3 types of pots and are now choosing their favourite to apply to a clay model of an Aztec artefact. This is the next step in their create experience of the life of the Aztecs.

Today we survived a blizzard of activity and finished our amazing explanation text about Tudor houses and finished our own Tudor houses in card and paper. Have a look at our own model village! The children worked really hard and we had great results!

Today the children started to make their own Tudor houses. The cereal boxes you provided have been put to good use! After our trip into Exeter the children were keen to put their observations to paper. It is just the beginning but things are looking fantastic so far! We have included the final product skillfully made by Mr Coven!

We have been discussing vehicles and how important the axles and wheels are.
We designed our vehicles before moving onto make them.

We have been making vehicles with axles and wheels.
Today we went outside and tested our vehicles to see how they moved. We then discussed how they moved, what worked well on them and how we can improve the way they move next time.
Year 5/6 - Ready Steady Cook

Year 5/6 have been cooking again!! They had a fantastic time yesterday making biscuits. There were some fabulous designs and some very budding future bakers were spotted!

Year 3/4 has been brushing up on their observation skills and putting their skills to the test with portraiture. Each child is drawing a self portrait that they can display on the cover of their Learning Journal. They have really enjoyed the exercise and the results are fantastic!

Year 5 and 6 have begun their Ready Steady Cook topic making bread. They have used a variety of ingredients and come up with some innovative designs. I hope you enjoy the bread when they bring it home.
