Year 3/4 PE

It was our final Tennis Session today.

Many of the children are now able to strike the ball, hold the racket correctly and move their bodies/rackets  to coincide with the ball. Some have moved onto serving and striking the ball after it has bounced (as in a real game of tennis).

I definitely think there are some children that had a certain flare for the game and should take it up as a hobby!

Over the past few week all year 1/2  classes have been learning to dance around the maypole. Today, Mrs Howell has taken all the classes and taught then an extra dance ready for the Open Day on Wednesday. Our children can’t wait to perform and it will be a real treat if you are able to attend.

In PE we have been learning to skip.

Last week we focused on learning to skip on the spot (two feet together and alternate feet ) and then moving forwards as we skip (two feet together, jumping along and  a’running’ skip).

This week we have been skipping with team mates. Some of us have learnt to run into the moving rope and then start to jump.
