Wildlife Champions.
Saturday, November 10th, 2012
On Friday 9th November, ten Montgomery Primary school children attended Devon Wildlife Trust’s Wildlife Champions conference at St Peter’s CofE School.
At the conference, the children learnt how to plan a bee friendly garden, how to survey a wildlife area, how to identify different trees and how to build bug hotels. There was also the opportunity to meet and question TV naturalist Nick Baker. The children asked him why we had pond skaters in our new pond and how they got there. The answer was interesting.
It was an exciting, inspiring and informative day. The children can’t wait to get back to school to share their knowledge and start their wildlife garden projects. The group of ten were fantastic ambassadors for the school, asking intelligent questions and working hard in all the workshops.
Watch this space for updates on progress regarding the school’s wildlife garden!

They have made structures from Clixi, giving the different shapes values and added them together. The children have also been adding decimals using the Argos catalogue to prepare a Christmas list.
